Shakira is lending a her hand to victims of Haiti earthquake by building a new school. The superstar’s Barefoot Foundation has joined forces with Architecture for Humanity to build a new school in Haiti according to MTV.com. “For that reason, we are doing out small part to help Haiti rebuild and give the children affected by this disaster the chance to learn and thrive,” she said in a statement. “I hope we can use some of what we’ve learned working in Colombia to help Haiti’s children recover. When we educate children, we empower societies, and right now Haiti needs all of our help.”
Shakira admits she used to feel guilty for shopping but now thinks it helps the economy rolling. The Colombian hitmaker said she felt bad when she bought luxury things in the past but she now she has changed her point of view. “I used to feel guilty - I am a Catholic girl after all - but today, the way I see it, shopping keeps the world rolling. A world where people don't consume? The economy gets worse," she tells You magazine.
