Shakira took her voice to Washington D.C on Tuesday (April 22) for a Global Campaign for Education. The singer was determined to ask the United States Congress to donate money for the cause she has been supporting for a long time. At the press conference on Capitol Hill Shakira said that the advocacy group is “pressing world leaders to provide funding for primary education for 72 million young children who now miss out on schooling as a result of poverty.” She followed her speech saying, “In the developing world, where I come from, sometimes education is considered a luxury, a privilege, and not a human right, and this always bothered me. So this is personal to me."

Shakira will talk by phone with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown today (April 21) to discuss global education for developing countries as part of Global Campaign for Education Action Week this week. The songstress is the honorary chairperson GCE Action Week. Also taking part of the conference call, will be World Bank President Robert Zoellick. They seek 120 countries’ government leaders to backt basic education for all children. Shakira will fly to Washington on Tuesday to visit Members of Congress to bring attention of the Education for All Act of 2007.

Shakira is gearing up to perform in Argentina next month. The singer will be the main attraction in a charity concert scheduled for May 17 in Buenos Aires, according to reports. This drive is part of a series of performances organized by ALAS Foundation, which helps children in needs. Others artist that will also perform include Alejandro Sanz, Joaquin Sabina, Gustavo Cerati and Fito Paez.

An alleged sex tape featuring Shakira, her boyfriend Antonio de la Rua and singer Alejandro Sanz turned out to be a an April Fool's Day hoax. Earlier this week internet sites sparkled speculation about a tape that showed Shakira engaging in a threesome on a yacht with the Spanish pop star and her beau. At the same time, Argentine DJ Javier Ceriani spread rumors about the "sex tape" by making comments on his Zona Cero radio show. However, the artists’ representative denied the tape ever exists, claiming, "This is a false rumor. This is totally absurd any way you look at it. There is no possibility that such a video exists”.

Shakira felt sorry for not attending the concert “Paz sin Fronteras” celebrated past Sunday in the border between Colombia and Venezuela. The singer, who has previous commitments in Asia, couldn’t join the concert arranged by fellow Colombian artist Juanes for the peace between both countries. In a press release, she claimed, “Unluckily It has been impossible for me to be there but as a Colombian-born I feel a great relief of knowing that the limits issues [between Colombia and Venezuela] have been worked it out, and I truly wish the peace reached lasts.”

Shakira has received the Young Global Leader award given by World Economic Forum (WEF) for her charitable work. The singer, who was included in a list among 200 leaders worldwide, was reckoned for her work with her Foundation Pies Descalzos.  The award “looks for global leaders, who invest their time to face global challenges, giving their knowledge and energy for a better future,” was created in 2004 by Professor Klaus Schwab.

Shakira is finally content with her body curves. The singer has confessed that in the past she was uncomfortable with the size of her breasts because they are small and "humble", as she describes them in the song "Whenever, Wherever". But now, she says. “I used to worry about my breast size, but I've finally accepted myself for who I am. Besides, a big butt is more important in Latin culture."

Shakira will launch her own cosmetic line in collaboration with Spanish company Puig Beauty & Fashion Group. The beauty range will include a perfume, personal care products and cosmetics. The 31-year-old singer is thrilled to be involved in this creative project. “I’m very excited to be able to express myself through another creative medium. My feeling is that personal care and beauty should be effortless and accessible for everyone,” Contactmusic.com  quoted her, as saying.

Shakira has put some of her clothes for sale to raise cash for her Bare Feet Foundation. In a recent auction, a fan has reportedly paid over $3,000 for a bra that Shakira once worn, and another handed over $14,000 for front-row seats to meet the Colombian sensation. All the funds raised will be used to build an educational institution for poor children in north Colombia.

Shakira reaches the forth place in Forbes com’s first list of the wealthiest women in music universe. With earnings of $38 million, the Colombian sensation has only been left behind by industry giants Madonna -$72 million-, Barbra Streisand - $60 million- and Celine Dion - $45 million, reports the New York Daily News.  Other Latinas included on the list are Christina Aguilera at No. 7 and Jennifer Lopez at No. 18.

Shakira, Madonna and Marilyn Monroe will star a new campaign for hair-care label Sunsilk. The threesome has been chosen to appear in the campaign, named “Life Can't Wait”, which encourages women to make the most in life. The shampoo campaign will be featured during the American Super Bowl on February 3, with Shakira, Madonna and Marilyn Monroe tunes in the background.

Shakira is planning to record a duo with Italian singer Tiziano Ferro, reports Italian papers. The songstress would make a foray into this new language and she might have used her recent trip to Italy to ultimate details. However, Shakira’s rep has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor.

Shakira frequently chats with her father-in-law Fernando de la Rua. The Argentinean former President told the press that he gets along very well with his son’s fiancée and they talk about several issues. “We talk quite frequently about history, culture, literature and about the socials drives she is involved,” Antonio’s father commented. 

Buenos Aires, Mexico, New York, Madrid have been chosen as the cities for the concerts of the new edition of Live Earth, scheduled for March 29. Shakira’s foundation ALAS has announced the series of concerts in which the Colombian singer, Argentinean Gustavo Cerati, Lenny Kravitz and The Police will perform among other artists. The organization aims to reduce poverty and fight global warming.

Shakira and her boyfriend Antonio de la Rua were spotted sharing a romantic getaway in Rome recently. The couple hired a tour guide and visited the most famous sights of the Italian city. They enjoyed the Capitolini and Berberini’s musems, the Forum Ruins, and Popolo Square, among other places.

Shakira has donated hundreds of shoes to children in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia. The popular singer has made the drive through her own foundation Pies Descalzos. Each year Shakira does huge donations to promote the education of people in need.

Shakira played in front a 300,000 audience past Sunday in Tbilisi, Georgia, being the first time the tiny country host such a big show. The superstar was invited to the ex-soviet country as part of foreign investment made by reformist President Mikhail Saakashvili. Concert promoter Mikhail Giorgadze told Reuters, "We have never dealt with such a big show before."None of the other entertainment projects that we have done before can even come close to this commercial scale."

Shakira made three-day visit to Bangladesh recently as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador to help the victims of Cyclone Sidr. The singer spent her time with women and children to raise funds to rebuild the estimated 3,000 schools destroyed by what it comes to be named the worst cyclone season in history. “I am sorry for what happened to you,” Shakira said to a group of survivors. “But things are going to get better again. I admire your resilience and your patience and how much you can still give when you have so little for yourselves.”

Shakira has been shortlisted for the Golden Globes Awards, organizers announced yesterday. The Colombian sensation is nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for “La Despedida,” which she especially penned for the film “Love in the Times of Cholera.” Other Latinos artist nominees include America Ferrera for Best Actress in a Comedy in “Ugly Betty” and Javier Bardem for the Best Supportive Actor prize in the Coen Brothers’ “No Country for Old Men.” The 65th Annual Golden Globes awards will be presented January 13 in Beverly Hills. The ceremony  will air live on NBC.

After her successful 2006/07worldwide tour, Shakira launches her DVD “Oral Fixation Tour,” where it is  included 17 live concerts and backstage among other things. This material includes images from her concerts in 140 cities that were enjoyed by more than 2.5 million people in North America, South America, Africa and southern Asia. The DVD is directed by Nick Wickh.

Shakira is currently resting in Uruguay with her in-laws, but without her boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, who is expected to join them soon. Shakira has generated stir in Afghanistan after a national TV network was condemned by the Muslim country's government for airing a concert of the sexy singer. The images of Shakira’s performance, broadcasted by Tolo TV, have outraged religious officials and Muslim clerics. But the network owner, Saad Mohseni, has supported his decision to air st the gig, saying the show was "not that provocative", and "Shakira was pixellated (across her chest)" to reduce offence the concert might cause. He also thinks is all about a political issue, he said, "The government is looking for an excuse to have a go at us. When we give air time to the Taliban we are talking to terrorists.”

Shakira has reportedly missed out the chance to make her movie debut in 'Love in the Time of Cholera' because she didn't want to appear naked on the screen. According to the official explanations, the singer dropped the project due to her hectic schedule but producer Scott Steindorff said Shakira pulled out the movie, as she did not want to strip off for the cameras, reports ContactMusic.com. Shakira said, “The script, the character, the director, it all has to come together to assure me that I'll be protected. I have a responsibility to my public, so I don't want to get into something that could fail.”

Rumors are buzzing that Shakira could model in Brazil famous carnival next year. Rio de Janeiro Mayor has reportedly invited the songstress to join a Scola do Samba, taking part in one of the biggest parade in Latin America. However, Shakira has yet to confirm her presence to the event. She is also expected to attend Bahia’s carnival.

Shakira says that true love is what is important to her -not tying the knot. The songstress, who is engaged to Antonio de la Rua, has admitted she does not know whether she would marry his Argentine fiancé or not but they are together, that what is counts in deep. She tells People Espanol, “We’ll get married eventually, or we won’t, but we’re together and that’s what matters.” “We love each other and we want to stay like that. Why fix something that’s not broken?” She also says that nothing can replace love, “[Love] is my primary nourishment. Shakira has been working in three new songs that will be part of the soundtrack of the movie “Love in the Time of Cholera,” based on Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ novel of the same name. First single entitled “Hay amores” has made it debut on Colombian’s radios recently, the other two tracks called "Pienso en ti” and “La Despedida” will be released in the following days. Shakira and Wyclef Jean will team up again to record a new duet “King & Queen”. This time, the Colombian superstar will participate on Haitian singer’s upcoming album The Carnival II, in a way of giving back when Wyclef appeared on Oral Fixation II with the hit “Hips don’t lie.”Other artists who will also collaborate with the singer are Akon, Lil' Wayne, Nila, Seri Tankian, Paul Simon, Mary J. Shakira will play a special gig at the premiere of romantic-drama movie “Love in The Time Of Cholera” on November 6 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The songstress is to perform two exclusive songs written for the film at the event titled “An Evening Of Love.” Moreover, there will be a dinner and auction which proceeds go to Shakira’s organization Bare Feet Foundation. The movie is based on Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s acclaimed book of the same title, Love in the Time of Cholera and was directed by English Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral).

Shakira has dismissed once again gossips spread about her wedding with Antonio de la Rua, saying she is now focused on her professional career. The singer says there is no rush to tie the knot, but claims the idea is in her plans. It makes several years since the couple live together.

Shakira’s former employee will release a documentary about the singer’s beginnings. The work is a non-authorize biography about Shakira’s first steps on TV before she raised fame. The producer of the show Carlos Vanegas says his intention is to present “a true and respectful story about the singer”. “People know her career since she started in Miami, but people don’t know her life previously,” said Vangeas referring to the moment when the singer started working with producer Emilio Stefan.

On Saturday Shakira, Bono, Alicia Keys and Chris Rock joined former President Bill Clinton at Harlem's historic Apollo Theater for a roundtable forum on youth activism sponsored by MTV. The event, which mixed politics and music, pointed to inspire youth to be active in social issues. "We're here tonight because young people here have more opportunity than ever before to change history," said Clinton, who just published a new book titled ” Giving: How Each of Us Can Change The World”.

Connected with the other’s need, Shakira will donate $40 million dollars to rebuild destroyed areas in Americas, caused by natural disasters. In conjunction with her organization Latin America for Solidarity Foundation (ALAS) - which she co-presided with Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez - she will carry out this drive. The funds will be destiny to the people affected by Peruvian earthquake and hurricane in Nicaragua. Shakira tells the press, "I've seen first-hand many of the challenges facing Latin America. These are challenging problems that no one person can address, but working together everyone can help make a difference."  The foundation is also involved in a $5 million project to assist children in the two regions and will be developed in a three-year programme.

Shakira continues with her secret plans for her wedding with Antonio de la Rua. Rumors circulating claimed that Shakira has already picked who will attend her and her fiancee at her wedding.  The singer has alleged picked Alejandro Sanz as the best man and Penelope Cruz as her matron of honour. A source says, “She wants them to witness her engagement because she really appreciates Alejandro and Penelope.”

Shakira alongside her organization ‘Fundacion Alas’ are planning the Latin version of Live 8 in benefit of Latin America. As well as the worldwide version done  last year, Live 8 Latino will have a series of shows in simultaneous, scheduled for March 29, 2008. The performances will be held in Madrid, Mexico DF, Buenos Aires and New York. It is desirable that Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bose, Jennifer Lopez, Juanes, David Bisbal, Mana and Babasonicos among others artists could be part of the event.

Shakira has been nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards, which is Scheduled  for November 1 in Munich, Germany. Shakira has become a student again. The singer spent her summer, attending classes of History of Civilization at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her representative has confirmed the report, saying, "She went when she finished her tour, for the summer." Robert Cleve, the acclaimed professor which taught Shakira at UCLA, was stunned by the singer intelligence and humility.  He said, "She told me she was visiting from Colombia and that she was just doing this for her own enlightenment and enjoyment. She looked like just an ordinary student. She wasn't flamboyant; she didn't act like a big celebrity or anything." Cleve also remarked Shakira would stay after class to discuss the subject in deep, adding “I was really impressed with how intelligent she was."

Shakira and her boyfriend Antonio de la Rua had lunch in the exclusive restaurant The Ivy last week to arrange the latest details for their upcoming wedding, according to reports. Rumors are buzzing that Shakira and her Argentinean fiance will tie the knot the next month. “I will get marry  but I don’t know exactly when. Shakira, Miguel Bose, Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Mana and Ricardo Arjona are set to record a public campaign to help the families affected in the Peruvian earthquake. The announcements will appear on TV,newspapers and radio in all the Latin-American countries, United States and Spain.  The first public ad to encourage people to donate money has already been released. Other artists who are also helping the less fortunate are Diego Torres, Julieta Venegas, Catupecumachu, Daniela Mercury, Wyclef Jean, Gustavo Cerati Chayanne and Ricardo Montaner.

Shakira flew to Moscow for a private concert requested by a Russian richi rich on September 1. The singer was reportedly paid the astounding $3 m a weekend performance. Shakira enchanted the Russians with seven songs and her belly dance.

After recent Peruvian earthquake, many artists  members of ALAS Foundation has asked for help to the more than 70,000 families that live in the affected areas. Shakira is the President of the non government organization, which aims to give aid to children in need and is currently joining effort to help the Andean country. Ricardo Arjona, Miguel Bose and Juanes also take part from the organization.

Alejandro Sanz and Shakira's duet "Te Lo Agradezco Pero No" received the song of the year award at this year’s  Premios Oye!.  The song won the award given by the Mexican Music Academy Award at the event that took placed on Aug. 23. Other nominations were for Miguel Bose's album "Papito," which includes a duet with Shakira "Si Tu No Vuelves".

Rumors are circulating that Shakira and the Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz would have a fleeting romace. Pop Art magazine reports the stars got involved while they recorded the song “La tortura”. Shakira and Beyonce Knowles duet ‘Beautiful Liar’ has received four nominations for 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Shakira and Argentinean artist Pedro Aznar have been in a recoding studios in London to make a duet for new film “The Love In The Time Of Cholera.” The singers have reportedly recorded two songs for the movie based on the acclaimed novel of Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez.  Pedro Aznar is an Argentinean musician with an accomplished solo career, who played bass guitar in a legendary band named Seru Giran

Shakira has reportedly renewed her contract with the electronic giant Panasonic. The singer will represent the Japanese brand until March 2008. Last March Shakira shot the commercial campaign for Panasonic audio visual products, including LUMIX digital still cameras. The ads, aimed for Latin American market, were made in the Bahamas.

Shakira, Wyclef Jean, Canadian sensation Nikki Yanofsky and the African Children’s Choir are among the performers booked to act at One X One children’s charity benefit gala in Toronto, Canada. Actor Matt Damon will  host the event, which is done to raise funds for domestic and global purpose. The gala charity, opened to the public for its first time, is scheduled for September 9 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Shakira has topped South American music charts during this week with her hit “Las de la intuicion”. Puerto Rican singer Chayanne also shows up with his tune “Si nos quedara poco tiempo” and so does Argentinean Axel’s “Si va a ser sera”.

Shakira, Madonna, Joss Stone, Dido and Celine Dion are some of the famous names that will join Annie Lennox in her new album "Sing". This will be the forth album of the British singer, who has won over a dozen of awards in her country and in the US.  In this time, Lennox has chosen the most representative female pop singers to raise funds for TAC (Treatment Action Campaign) an organization that aims for the HIV treatment and prevention. The album is expected to hit retailers on October 1, and a preview will arrive on September 24 with its first track named "Dark Road".

Shakira will help kids deprived of the basic necessities with a special campaign to raise 200 million dollars for Latin America children. The artist has joined forces with ALAS Foundation (Latin America in Solidarity Action) and announced her intentions early this month at the organization's event at Panama's Teatro Nacional. The drive will include four concerts of Shakira in Buenos Aires, Mexico City, New York and Rio de Janeiro this year. "ALAS came about because of a social emergency: 350 thousand children die each year due to avoidable causes, 40 million children work and live on the streets. We want an active Latin America, that
doesn't give up, united for our children," said Shakira.

Shakira has reportedly requested boyfriend Antonio de la Rua to sign a prenuptial contract before they get married in September. An Argentinean’s newpaper claims that he will be asked to renounce any right to the songstress's fortune, in case they divorce. "When you're very much in love you have plenty of people giving you advice, and none of them wants to see what happened to Paul MCCartney happen to her," Clarin reported.

Shakira and rapper Lil Wayne has re-recorded a new track, yet not titled, for the upcoming Santana retrospective "Ultimate Santana", expected for October 16.  Tina Turner has also collaborated for a new version of Santana’s 2002 Michelle Branch-laced hit "The Game of Love."

Shakira blew kisses to the dispersed audience in the Hamburg leg of the 2007 version of Live Earth concerts on Saturday. Other performances signed up for the Hamburg event included Enrique Iglesias and Yusuf, the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens.

Shakira will not show her belly dance in Lebanon this summer after tourism season festivals were cancelled for second year due to security and political issues. Wafa Saab, a spokeswoman for the Beiteddine Festival, said Thursday that international artists, like most tourists, had denied traveling to Lebanon. Security would have been a major headache, she acknowledged. Shakira, who had Lebanese roots, was supposed to perform as part of the Beiteddine events.

It’s all prepared for the second annual of "ThisDay Music Festival" in Lagos, Nigeria to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of transatlantic slave trade. Both national and invited international top artists will hit the stage on July 14. Shakira, John Legend, an American multi-awarded winner, reggae band UB40, singer Ne-Yo and Barbadian songstress Rihanna are part of the list of the twelve big names that will perform.

Finally, it has been announced that Shakira will perform at the Live Earth concert scheduled for July 7, 2007 on Hamburg, Germany. The singer will join an already large list of popular artists such as Snoop Dogg, Enrique Iglesias, Chris Cornell, and numerous other lesser-known acts in a global event to raise awareness about climate change.  Live Earth Founder and Producer Kevin Wall said, “The addition of internationally popular music acts like Shakira will help us reach millions of people across the globe.” The event will reunite approximate 2 billion people in different stages all over the world, including New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg.

It is said that Shakira and Antonio broke up, but Shakira’s publicist denied rumors of a romance ending, claiming it’s not true.

 In response to the rumours recently spread, former Argentinean President Fernando de la Rua denied that his son Antonio and Shakira will wed next September. Fernando de la Rua explained, “Every two or three months the media make up some juicy stuff”, in direct reference to the wedding versions buzzing in the air. In addition, he said that the couple has “a great relationship”.

Shakira delights a big audience at the Zocalo in Mexico City!

Shakira has broken the record for the biggest audience in a free concert in Mexico City. Her belly dance and her charms gathered more than 200,000 fans on central Zocalo square for a public performance on Sunday (May 27). Shakira and Beyonce remain as the queens of European charts with their unbeatable duet 'Beautiful Liar'. This is the third consecutive week that the pair top the continent's singles chart. Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend and Timbaland's collaboration with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, Give It To Me, are at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Shakira will tie the knot with Antonio De La Rua in September (07). According to reports, the superstar will wed her 34-year-old Argentine fiance - the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua - at her luxurious mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The accurate date of the wedding hasn't been revealed yet, but it is said that the seven-year-couple will finally take the vows the current year. Congratulations! Shakira visited the Mazahuas Indians comunity during her tour in Mexico on Tuesday. The "Hips don't lie" singer spent a great time with the kids of a school that gave her a handcrafted shoes as a gift for her foundation Pies Descalzos and titled a music classroom in her name. The artist donated a big amount of musical instruments.

Shakira gave an outstanding concert in Mexico on the final leg of her "Oral Fixation" world tour, with a crowd of 50,000. fans. Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who went to watch the show with his wife and his ten-year-old daughter, had no words to describe the amazing performance the Colombian singer did. “Mexico, I have a history with you for many years and I thank you. I thank you with all my heart and affection. “The only thing I can do tonight is give everything I have so you have a good time. Everything I have, everything, everything - Mexico, tonight I’m all yours,”  said Shakira to her ardent fans. Her World tour will close with a show in Istanbul, Turkey on June 9th.

Pop divas Shakira and Beyonce Knowles remain on top spot of the European singles chart for second week consecutive while their smashing 'Beautiful Liar' reigns as the continent's most popular song.  Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend climbs a place to be No.2 once more, while Timbaland's collaboration with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, 'Give It To Me', drops a place to No. 3.

Shakira said she had lice when she was a child to comfort a little girl from her charity foundation'Fundación Pies Descalzos'. In a recent event in Barranquilla, the popular singer shared words of comfort and a tender hug with a kid who was ashamed of having lice, reported Showbiz.  "It's natural, you don't have to be ashamed," she calmed down the girl.  Shakira confessed she also had lice as a child and that her mother sprayed her head with insecticide to kill them. "Don't do that please. Today there are pills that will get rid of them right away," said the Colombian star.

According to reports, Shakira and Hollywood movie star Angelina Jolie have become good friends since both celebs discovered they share similar concerns like the anti-poverty campaign. The Colombian songstress is a goodwill ambassador for Unicef (United Nations' Children's Fund) and also has a personal charity organization :'Pies Descalzos Foundation'; while Mrs Pitt is a goodwill ambassador for Unhcr (the United Nations' Refugee Agency) and promotes many charity funds in her children's names.
A close pal of Jolie says, "They have so much in common, we can't believe they didn't become buddies sooner."Shakira loves kids and runs a children's charity in her home country so they have been swapping tips on fundraising."

Shakira will release a new video for the track "Pure Intuition" ("Las de la Intuicion" in Spanish) next Monday (May 7). With a surprising new look, the Colombian diva will perform  in this video co-directed with Spanish Jaume de Laiguana in a worldwide premier. The video, which was shot in Miami, has been inspired by German famous photographer Helmut Newton.

Pop star Beyonce Knowles confuses her image with Colombian diva Shakira's in their latest smash hit "Beautiful Liar". The sexy songstress has recently revealed that the magic of both star's synchronized dance leads her to find trouble to distinguish herself from Shakira. Knowles says: "For the video, they put us in a room together for about two hours and we just came up with the choreography and played off the fact we look similar. "It was really cool because I don't even know who is who sometimes - even I get confused!"

American songtress Beyonce Knowles has credited Colombian sensation Shakira for teaching her belly dance moves when they teamed up to record new track 'Beautiful Liar'. The 'Bootylicious' singer told People magazine: "Shakira taught me how to belly dance, she taught me the whole routine. I used to watch her videos and I thought she was so cool. When she was teaching me the moves I thought, 'This is crazy, Shakira is showing me how to belly dance!' "I got the best teacher. We didn't have a lot of time to come up with the choreography - most of it was done on the spot. I was just watching her and learning from her. It was so much fun, the best energy. She was really easy to work with, so sweet and humble."

Pop divas Beyonce and Shakira have reached the top of the singles chart with their duet Beautiful Liar. The track that last week  was number five , beat Timbaland's Give It To Me which went down  to three. Arctic Monkeys, who are releasing their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare, also climbed the spot.

Colombian sensation Shakira ended her 2007 tour across Europe with her last show in  Cologne, Germany last Sunday. The 'hips don´t lie' singer performed before 10,000 animated fans in an event that marks the end of an 11 week cooperation on tour between  the Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT and Shakira, which began  in Hamburg on January 25. SEAT is giving support  to Shakira’s charity foundation, Pies Descalzos, which has already gained an amount of 116,000 Euros. In reference to her stay in Europe, shakira says: “I have had a really great time in Europe”. “It has been a pleasure to have SEAT as my main partner and to be “driven” by them. I am also delighted with SEAT’s commitment for my charity foundation that will enable even more children to get access to good education and nutrition in my home country of Colombia.”

Bootylicious Beyonce Knowles has been named as The World’s Best Booty Shakers by music television channel, Kiss Music TV. A survey of 1,000 people put Latin pop star Shakira in the second place with  a honorable 18% . And Men artists also feature in the list of best booty shakin and  Puerto Rican´s singer Ricky Martin completed the top three. The ‘Shake Your Bon Bon’ and ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ star reaped a  16% of the votes.

It seems that music market has increasingly changed not only its size but its language taste. For many years,  Latin performers like  Ricky Martin and Shakira have sang their tunes in English to reach a bigger audience. But nowadays things have reverted and musical stars are recording and performing  in Spanish, aiming at  the 32 million - and in expansion - Spanish speaking population in the United States.  Singers Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez have their Spanish-version albums. Beyonce recorded  seven songs in Spanish and a duet with Shakira. Lopez's Spanish version album, "Como Ama Una Mujer," ("How a Woman Loves"), has been released recently.

Shakira was invited to explore deeper into Colombian music roots by fellow singer Carlos Vives. The artist, who spread vallenato music  around the globe, also asked the 'Hips don´lie' star to avoid American beats. Vives alongside other Latin artists like Fito Páez from Argentina, Amancio Prada and Javier Ruibal from Spain, and Tania Libertad from Peru, assisted to the IV International Spanish Language Congress. In front of a big crowd of people, the six time Grammy winner Colombian artist proposed Shakira to “dive in the Magdalena River and not so much in the Mississippi.”

Colombian sensation Shakira loves buying souvenirs from each country she visits and India wasn´t the exception. The 'Hips don´t lie' singer  went on a shopping spree and bought many items: cotton saris, books about Indian spirituality and a good luck charm meant to avoid the evil eye, a newspaper announced yesterday. Shakira´s tour included Mumbai's shopping districts, the Times of India reported, and she also asked hotel staff to download some Indian songs for her collection. "Shakira was curious about desi (Indian) books and music," said Illan Weill, the manager of the Grand Hyatt hotel where she stayed. However, there was one thing she couldn´t take home with her -  the nimbu mirchi, a bunch of limes and peppers tied together and hung from car fenders and door frames to keep evil away. Instead, she bought a silver replica.

Tonight Colombian singer Shakira will perform  at the Guiza Pyramids on her first show in Egypt with her worldwide tour Oral Fixation.  The "Hips don't lie" star,  who arrived at El Cairo  Airport one day before the concert, confessed her joy for being in that ancient country for she wished to act there since she was a little girl as she told the local newspaper Al Ahram. Shakira also admitted that she hopes to gain "the trust and love of the Egyptians, a country that appreciates art and music", the newspaper added. This will be Shakira´s first appearance in the African continent, which is promoted by the Egyptian company Mobinil, leader in mobile telephony, in order to reward its ten millionth subscriber.

Her suite will have an exquisite decoration with white lilies and other exotic plants brought from Jakarta. The star will delight Mumbai on Sunday.

In only 5 days Shakira will make her first musical appearance  in the Middle East where nearly all the 25.000 tickets have been sold out. The famous singer will perform one Arabic song in honor of the Arab world she's holding her shows. Dubai is only one of three concerts Shakira is going to hold  in these lands, with two more expected for Lebanon and Tunisia. Besides, the Colombian global sensation is to play in  Cairo on the 28th. A great expectations is in the air which is supposed to be the biggest concert in the region.

Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan would like to invite Shakira to  her 'good friend' Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow.The Colombian sensation will hit Mumbai the night of March 23. The choreographer met Shakira last year when she made a compliment of the star 's dance steps for her Hips Don't Lie number.  "I would love to invite her to Shah Rukh Khan's house .It will really depend on Shakira's schedule. I can't say anything now," Farah said.

MTV has begun with the first of three select “webisodes”, featuring the Latino global sensation Shakira around her 2006 “Oral Fixation Tour.” The motion picture, available only on MTV.com, is a follow up to the “Dirty Little Secrets” contest, where one fortunate fan accompanied Shakira across Europe, Latin America, and North America. The first part includes footage from Barcelona, Spain, including one of Shakira’s many “Dirty Little Secret” reveals, a deep look at contest winner Rachel Newhouse, a behind-the-scenes look at the tour production, and a live performance of her smash hit “Hips Don’t Lie” featuring Wyclef Jean.

During a press conference at the Geneva Motor show, the Colombian pop star Shakira signed the Leon Pies Descalzos car in order to add it more value. “I have been having a lot of fun so far during the tour even if I “caught the fever” for real for a while, admited Shakira.  I didn’t expect to follow the tour slogan Catch the Fever so literally. However, I will certainly return with Seat to these cities before I end my tour in Europe.”  “Shakira is enhancing the positive trend we see for the Seat  brand, explained  the President of Seat Erich Schmitt. She helps us expose our brand to people that we normally would not get in touch with.” During the event, the Director of the Swiss Seat importer AMAG, Mr. Ronald Ziegler, gave Shakira a cheque for the Pies Descalzos foundation for value of 16.000 Swiss Francs.

The Colombian global sensation Shakira is set to perform in Mumbai, India, on March 25 on her first ever visit to the country.
